Like a scene frozen in time, AMBER draws us into a meticulously constructed world: a flawless kitchen, a doll-like aesthetic, a pink breakfast, and a retro atmosphere that evokes the promise of domestic safety. Everything is in its place, everything is beautiful… too beautiful.

The female figure—dressed in pastel tones, with a vacant gaze and a fixed gesture—embodies the traditional ideal of femininity: submissive, decorative, good. She reads a magazine titled Gossip: The Magazine for Good Girls, its covers perpetuating clichés about how to make a husband happy. Yet within this wallpapered universe of rules, something feels out of joint.

Dissonant details break into the frame: a Wanted poster, a milk carton with the face of a missing girl, and outside the window, a man—suspiciously resembling the police sketch—speaking to a young girl in the street. The disturbing hides at the periphery, camouflaged under the veil of normality.

AMBER not only critiques the idealization of domestic life but also exposes the invisible threats that linger at the margins of the everyday. Through meticulous staging and a seductive color palette, Lídia Vives subverts the aesthetics of the perfect home to reveal its fragility. The image asks us: how much danger can lie hidden behind a smile, a flawless hairstyle, or a cup of coffee?

1. Handling

Use Gloves: Always handle the photograph with clean, dry hands or preferably with cotton gloves to avoid leaving fingerprints or smudges on the acrylic surface.

Avoid Scratching: Be careful not to scratch the acrylic surface. Avoid placing sharp objects near the artwork.

2. Cleaning

Dusting: Use a soft, lint-free cloth or a microfiber cloth to gently dust the surface. Avoid using paper towels or rough cloths that could scratch the acrylic.

Cleaning Solutions: For deeper cleaning, use a mild soap solution with water. Apply the solution to the cloth, not directly to the acrylic, and gently wipe the surface. Avoid using ammonia-based or abrasive cleaners, as they can damage the acrylic.

3. Display

Avoid Direct Sunlight: Do not expose the artwork to direct sunlight to prevent fading and potential damage to both the acrylic and the photographic print.

Temperature and Humidity: Display the artwork in a stable environment with a temperature between 10ºC and 30ºC and a relative humidity between 40% and 60%. Avoid placing it in areas with extreme temperature changes or high humidity, such as bathrooms or kitchens.

4. Mounting

Secure Mounting: Ensure the artwork is securely mounted using appropriate hardware. If you are unsure, consider professional installation to avoid damage.

Wall Protection: Use wall anchors or studs to support the weight of the acrylic and aluminum piece, ensuring it is securely and safely displayed.

5. Storage

Flat Storage: If you need to store the artwork, lay it flat in a cool, dry place. Avoid stacking other items on top of it to prevent scratches or pressure marks.

Protective Covering: Cover the surface with a soft cloth or a protective film to prevent dust accumulation and scratches.

6. Transportation

Protective Packaging: When transporting the artwork, use protective materials such as bubble wrap and sturdy, padded packaging to prevent damage. Ensure that the acrylic surface is protected from scratches and impacts.

Avoid Extreme Conditions: Do not expose the artwork to extreme temperatures or humidity during transportation. Handle it with care to avoid bending or dropping.
